Laura Boehler, DVM
Dr. Boehler attended Cal State Polytechnic University, Pomona where she earned a
Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Next, she completed a rotating emergency medicine and surgery internship at VCA West Los Angeles. After her internship, Dr. Boehler moved to South Florida to be a staff veterinarian for Save the Chimps, the largest privately funded chimpanzee sanctuary in the world. She eventually returned to California, where she spent several years working at exotic animal hospitals and as an ER Doctor at a 24-hour specialty center before moving to Utah. Her professional interests include exotic pet emergency care, soft tissue surgery, rabbit and rodent dentistry, reptile surgery, and providing safe anesthesia for the exotic species she treats. Dr. Boehler is the Consulting Veterinarian for a collection of 1,300 North American pit vipers that play a vital role in the synthesis of life-saving antivenin. She is also a consulting vet for the local rabbit rescues and the Wildlife Center of Salt Lake City. She has a Fluffle of seven rescued Lionhead rabbits and a 25-year-old Russian Tortoise. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, exploring the mountains, and rock climbing.
